Employment Law is a rapidly changing area of the law.  Many employers, especially small businesses, just can’t keep up with all the changes to law and procedures. Companies throughout the whole UK are making mistakes through ignorance or laziness. Employees are being awarded £000’s for even the smallest technicality.

All employees should be issued with a contract within 8 weeks of the start of their employment.  It is strongly advised that all employers also have in place all the essential policies and procedures to make it clear what employees are and are not entitled to.  Johnston Consulting can provide all this and more to ensure that your Company complies with its legal obligations. 


If a Company does not have these policies in place, it is only fair for an employee to ask for them.  This often leads to conflict and escalates to avoidable disputes and Employment Tribunal cases.

One of the biggest growth areas is Bullying and Harassment.  This is often caused by too much pressure to meet targets or letting small disputes fester until they erupt like a volcano.
